We are proud and excited to have founded Yukon's first dedicated art and music festival for children:
THE AUGUSTO! CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL!
We are honoured to be here on the traditional territory of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations in the beautiful village of Haines Junction! Our first three festivals in 2017, 2018, and 2019 exceeded almost all our expectations and the feedback received has confirmed that we have built something special!
The mandate of the Augusto! Children's Festival Society is to create an art and music festival that celebrates children and becomes a showcase community event that continues to foster, expand and promote the community's interest in art and music. Our festival provides an opportunity for children and adults to experience a variety of art and music activities, through shows and workshops led by professional artists. Our goal has been to design a festival that involves the whole community, either as artists, attendees, volunteers and local vendors. Geared to ages 12 and under, the festival will have a different focus each year to ensure it remains new and engaging for participants and to ensure a variety of activities, performers and artists benefit from the weekend.
We are an entirely volunteer run organization and dedicate many hours to the planning and delivery of this wonderful sharing of art and culture with you the families!
After taking a hiatus in 2020 and 2021, the fourth annual Augusto! Children’s Festival will take place from August 12-14, 2022 at the St. Elias Convention Centre in Haines Junction.
